LEGO Missing Pieces: What to Prepare Before Delivery

Short answer: have one adult requester, one set-specific part record, and a deliverable address ready before you open LEGO's replacement form. Review the country, language, name, email, phone, and address on the final screen; do not paste private details into a notes app or send them to a parts seller just to identify a brick.

This page covers delivery and form preparation. It does not decide whether a request qualifies, identify an unknown part, or audit a missing numbered bag. Use the eligibility guide, part-identification guide, or bag audit for those separate questions.

Why the delivery screen deserves its own check

LEGO's missing-piece flow is not only a parts search. The final stage asks where the replacement should go and who is allowed to request it. The official delivery-details help page says only grown-ups can request missing pieces and asks for contact and address information. A correct element ID is not enough if the parcel cannot be routed or the requester cannot complete the form.

Community reports add a practical warning: a builder may find the “missing” item later in a bag corner, a duplicate numbered bag, or an earlier step. Keep your evidence with the set until delivery is confirmed, but keep personal address data out of public posts.

The delivery-ready record

Write these facts before you start; leave private values in the official form only
RecordWhy it mattersWhere to keep it
Set number and set nameRoutes the search to one inventory and avoids mixing two builds.Your private build note or the box photo.
Element ID, colour, and quantitySeparates look-alike parts and prevents an accidental batch request.Your checklist; copy the ID exactly.
Bag, page, and stepShows where the shortage appeared and tells you what to recheck.Your checklist, not a public forum.
Adult requesterThe delivery-details guidance says a grown-up must submit the request.Enter the name in the official form; do not share it with a seller.
Country, language, and deliverable addressDetermines the available service route and where the parcel can be sent.Review on the final form screen; do not publish it.

Four checks before you enter an address

  1. Finish the parts check first. Turn out every corner of the current bag, inspect the box, and compare earlier steps. If the piece appears, stop; there is no reason to create a replacement request.
  2. Keep one set per request. The official missing-pieces page says multiple sets require separate requests. Match the set number at the top of your private record to the set selected in the form.
  3. Confirm the recipient can accept the parcel. Use an adult's name and a location where ordinary mail can be received. If you are helping a child, the adult should control the form and the confirmation email.
  4. Review the final summary. Check country or region, language, name, email, phone, address, element, colour, and quantity before submitting. Correct a typo here rather than hoping a carrier can repair it later.

What not to put in public

A photo of an instruction page can help identify a part, but crop or cover a name, email, phone number, order number, and street address first. The same rule applies to screenshots of the delivery page. Reddit can reveal useful failure modes, while LEGO's official page is the place for the actual request; neither is a reason to publish your personal delivery record.

Do not send an address to an independent parts marketplace to ask whether a brick is in stock. A seller only needs the delivery information after you have chosen to buy. For a free official replacement, keep the address inside LEGO's own form.

If the form cannot find your piece

Do not substitute a similar-looking element merely to reach the delivery screen. Use the identification guide to separate an element ID from a molded design ID, and record the step, bag, colour, connection, and quantity. If the official list still has no match, contact LEGO with that fingerprint rather than exposing your address in a community post.

One-minute delivery check

If all six are true, open LEGO's Missing Pieces route. If one is false, fix the record first.
